She Was Like That When I Got There

from Our Conviction by Genosha

/

lyrics

Ain't nothing like the splinter shards of a broken glass once halfway full to scrub away all the filth along with every single feature of a face soon to be forgotten. Too late to leave. I'm already gone. Just turn your back and walk away. Wasting white-out won't work this time. Neither closure for the past, nor a catalyst for the future, merely a present convenience. Exfoliate and erase your face so it's as empty as the chest cavity I pried open with my extra rib in a futile attempt to find your heart. I've bled redder for less than this but the sweat on my brow has never been more salty. Care to compare with the contents of your crocodile tears? Use someone else's extra rib to till your grave. I just want to smile without sneering if only for once.
