When The Anthem Became A Threnody(featuring Chris Best of Ain't No Mountain High Enough)

lyrics

I feel like a vehicle that has no idea where its going. I turned and swerved and spun so many times that I threw up 50 stars and 13 stripes. Exit sign eyes. Worms are ringing in my mouth with bells on bated breath, keep me on tenterhooks. I would trust my gut but it's a smoking engine and my feet are wheels driving on an earthquake. Grip the wheel tighter, eat uppers for lunch, take it for granted, this used to take months. It all burns, it all dies, it's all temporary and it pleases me greatly, I can't wait to see it. Toutatis and Donner can't reach you out here, they have no jurisdiction, they're trapped behind oceans. Loosen your collar, you're finally at home. No parades, no holidays. It won't be televised or tattooed. At least you cried an ocean big enough for me to sail away and forget why I ever wanted the shore. Do a root canal on my soul and tape an eviction notice to my body.
