Venison Edition

from Our Consequence by Genosha

lyrics

Eyes colored with pixie dust and body dipped in limelight. Bedazzled by the laughter of a lopsided constellation. Baptized with camera flashes, back massaged with cat calls. Scrape the brochures off my skin. Pluck the dandelions from my veins. Stitch this stress to the wind as I wait from myself to just breathe again. And when that moment kamakizes onto my doorstep, I’ll unfold it like a letter from someone I don’t recall giving my address to. Strip us of the ailments that plague most legs so we can dance right out of a crowd accustomed to crawling on its knees. All my angels have alabaster horns, cellophane wings and paper-mache halos. Oh yes, the wistful whiplash of running hot and becoming cold. Take a bite out of that, then wash it down with a glass of this.
